Defense Drone auto launching bug

I'm noticing that drones appear to auto launch the moment hostiles are within about 20km from your ship, regardless of whether or not you're in fast travel mode or even have the enemy targeted.

This is especially detrimental when flying through xenon sectors with plasma storms as the drones will auto launch into the damaging effect to engage xenon and hence get destroyed by the area effect before they can all redock.

Maybe patch this by just give us a setting in the ship menu to turn on/off drone auto launch or set it so they only launch when a specific key is pressed? (Since it's a waste having 20 drones auto launching against one Xenon N that will be dead several seconds after getting in range of my ships main turrets.)
