1.32 BUG Wharf build queue doesn't build player ship although it is queued at #1

This may as well be an UI issue. Sorry I didn't take screenshots, so I'll have describe it.

Building: Paranid Wharf in Holy Vision

I'm talking about this UI screen: Map screen -> List of entities (forgot the name) -> Paranid Wharf -> Ships being constructed


Queue build order of Wharf is shown like this:

Queue
ship 1 !!! missing resources 1:00 (yellow)
ship 2 !!! missing resources 1:00 (yellow)
...
ship 8 missing resources 1.00 (yellow)
________________________________
#1 Playership queued 1:47 (green)
(#2 is missing for some reason)
#3 Unknown ship (some low countdown; white)
#4 Unknown ship (low countdown; white)
...
#37 Unknown ship (white)

Now what happens when resources are delivered:
1. Engine parts are missing.
2. Freighter delivers Engine parts
3. one of the yellow ships with missing resources starts to get built
4. Ship finishes
5. Another yellow ships appears in the queue with Countdown of 1:00 and one of the white ships disappears

Problems:
* The UI suggests player ship is on #1, so it should be built next.
* Also the countdown for the white "Unknown Ships" seems wrong. It is usually below 10 seconds.
* Furthermore the UI suggests the playership started to get built already (it ticked down from 2:00 to 1:47 in my game) and then the process was frozen.

Another issue:
One of my owned ship was queued for upgrade and repair. I suppose it should appear in the queue somewhere, but it doesn't. Maybe it's the missing number 2 (see above)?

I think I've seen this behaviour, before this patch so it's probably unrelated.

that's an economy issue. the station is waiting for resources to be delivered. this is not a bug.

No it is not I explained what happens as soon as resources are delivered. Do you not understand the post?

Goverment ships get build first, thats the case in 2020 and in X4:Foundations...
You really think some bureaucrat is going to put your junkbucket in front of their fighterwing? Think again!

In all honesty, 1st in que should mean 1st in que.

How do you see this queue with other ships? I also have a ship not being built but I don’t know where you can view the other ships in the queue. I spent 4 hours last night using 4 medium traders trying to deliver enough engine parts to that station but could never deliver enough.

have you dropped out of favor with the faction, I've got the same thing going in the Teladi faction, dropped to -5 and the ship stalled (station owners don't like you torpedoing them for some reason)

Same issue for me even if only my ship are in the queue, i had to buy a cargo to buy engine part and then sell them to the station but then nothing happen and the amount of engine part was still at 12 even with me selling to them 300 engine part.
It happen on two teladi's station on my game.

In my case the stations are consuming wares faster than they can be delivered. I’ve been checking the status by creating a ship build order (which I cancel) just to check the missing parts. It will say missing 1500 engine parts for example. My 4 ships will sell it more that 1200 engine parts. Then when I check the ship build again it will say missing 2000 engine parts.

I’m sure I delivered more than 20k engine parts and other wares as the need would arise but I can’t ever catch up.

Can confirm this 100%, ships are being queued for build faster than materials can be delivered and the ships for the faction cut in line preventing you from ever getting ships built. Faction standing at +25 with HOP where I was trying to build the ships.

Can also confirm this. Same Wharf in Holy Vision. My M-ship has been queued #1 for several hours, but the shipyard keeps building S ships.
It has 8 of them under construction and 30 - 40+ (unknown ship) in queue. As soon as resources are available to finish construction it builds one or more of the ones under construction. Then it starts construction again, but it doesn't respect the queue.

I got myself my first L freighter and tried to shock it with engine parts, but all that did was helping it build the S ships. I got the backlog down to like 30, but it quickly got up to 46+ again.

Theory: If S and M ships have separate construction zones (landing pads are being flagged as construction zones for the s ships) so it can build 8 S and x number of M, could the issue be related to the shipyard not wanting to start construction on the M ship before all constructions on S ships have been completed? If that is the case, the M ship will never be built as the S ships usually require less resources and will always take priority

Same issue, same wharf, and I have the same impression: it would look like cheaper ships have the priority. If the economy was working right, it wouldn't be such an issue as it would happen only seldomly, but right now there's something wonky with engine parts either not being delivered or being unbalanced, that causes those long, stalled queues almost everywhere. It also seems poorly balanced that to produce a single heavy fighter - and you see how many are being ordered - they need the equivalent of a full M trader cargo of engine parts. Can you imagine how many traders would be needed to keep that supply coming?

Update:
My ship finally got built and I believe it was because I used L sized freighter to inject lots of needed wares at the same time. This strengthens my theory that the issue is with the prioritization script.
Speculation: When it takes a ship from the queue to put in construction it looks to see if it has all required materials and if it doesn't, it moves on to the next one in the list. This is good when you are doing upgrades. Say I just want to add a bunch more satellites, makes sense to cut the line if the station otherwise has everything required. This is bad when bigger builds keep getting pushed back by smaller builds. I can't exactly put my finger on whats up though.

I can confirm that it's not the full storage issue, this bug has killed my save and there's ample room for parts, and I'm pumping engine parts into the wharf, still won't build anything that I queue. And it's not related to size of ship, I've had other npc ships that were the same size jump mine in the queue, too. The queue itself is just broken currently, for some players.

I had the same issue (the one described here, not the full storage). And after struggling with it for some time and few attempts I've managed to get my ships built.

I've assigned 2 traders to constantly pump the station (HOP Wharf) with Engine Parts, turned on SETA, displayed the build queue and eventually (after long time) my ships were built. Not sure if that would be the case for everyone but worth a try. There was a short moment where the queue got limited from usual 25-30 ships to around 10, and that was the point my ships got into the build process. Shortly after the queue increased again to ~30.

There are definitely at least two issues here:
1. The order of the queue (my ships were always first and second) is not relevant. Their order number has nothing to do with the order they're gonna be built.
2. After observing the queue for some time on SETA I thought that maybe the ships taken from the queue to the build process are chosen randomly? Just a speculation, but maybe that's what's happening here. And when there are ~30 ships in the queue that would be the reason they always stay in the queue. Because the chance for them to be picked is so low.

Hey fellas, a thought here, if I may be so bold.

Are you ordering ships with mk3 engines and actually good weapons, shields, all the bells & whistles? Then the ships would need a far greater number of resources for construction. Say if the NPCs go "Whatevs, it needs to go from point A to point B this century" then they may not actually stick the most expensive stuff in the ships, thus the wharfs/yards CAN build that ship but can't build yours despite same chassi. Would likely happen repeatedly.

Seems like a pretty good explanation, no? I also had ships stuck in queue for 8+ hours but they were eventually dislodged by resource abundance, giving my theory an even more stable... foundation...

In my case it was a pretty much bare-bone freighter. Not sure about what shields and weapons I put on it, but I'm sure I went for cheep mk1 engines. Afaik the engine parts is the choke and the only things requiring them are engines and thrusters. Not saying you're wrong, just saying it probably doesn't apply in my case.

(sidenote: once finally I got my ship built I noticed that it was missing crew, so the tester in me sent that ship straight back to the dock for an upgrade. Only change was to add crew, nothing else. It's been stuck there ever since. And now it seems the wharf has been struck with a case of 100% full storage, because now nothing is happening)

3 deliveries from an L freighter finally got my ship built. I’d still like to know where you can see the queue of NPC ships being built.

I did notice that when walking around the dock you can see the allocated pilots in mid air sitting in invisible, not-yet-constructed ships.

I don't remember if it is in the map view or the information view for the wharf. I think map view. One of them has a + next to something like "Ships in construction", expanding that shows the queue. But it's only for new ships and does not include upgrades.
