Linux release news?
Now that Egosoft is talking about 1.5 and 2.0 releases, I'd like to know when we can expect it to be released.

Re: Linux release news?
Let the alpha testers, err, I mean Windows players sort out all the bugs first
Joking aside, it sure would've been great to finally play the game on the upcoming holidays. But as stated in that update video, there's plenty of issues with the new engine on one platform as it is. I'm sure Ego could rush out the Linux/Mac releases, but then it'd just add to their plate of non-trivial bugs to deal with. I say let them divide and conquer. Not that I'm not hopeful for a sooner release, but I'd rather want to enjoy the game than deal with issues. To date, there's still a couple of awful graphical problems with the Linux version of Rebirth; there's random unpredictable FPS drops in TC/AP; it's unlikely those would ever get fixed. I wouldn't want a repeat. At least, unlike Rebirth or X3, it's all unified graphics now thanks to Vulkan, but there could still be some platform/driver-specific things.

It's definitely still on our list, but no news about timing yet.
