Are mined resources exhaustible?
In other words, is it possible to "mine out" the galaxy until there is no more ore/ice/nividium/methane/helium/hydrogen? I'm asking because I've seen resource probes locate nividium, then when I send an L miner there to harvest it the units per km^3 drop rapidly.

Would be counter-intuitive to have finite resources in a sandbox game like this. The whole in game economy would come to a crashing halt if resources were finite.

I did notice my miners tend to spread out with time and dont return to the same spot except ordered to.

Re: Are mined resources exhaustible?
I think the resources should really be finite in the sense that asteroids in the center of each system should respawn with slower/less yield, promoting deep space exploration of systems; there is a lot of real-estate in the game and mining doesn't sound like it benefits much from it so far. Can anyone report finding good asteroid yields further out in systems?

From what I've seen, each spot has max resources and current resources. If it's mined, the current resources drop, and replenish up to max over time. At least that's what I get from some testing and resource probes.

Resources will get spawned back in over time. You can't run completely out.

Re: Are mined resources exhaustible?
Resources replentinsh at a set rate. If you mine more than this set rate, you will get bottlenecked that way.
