How do I get rid of my defence drones?

Made the mistake of having some on the ship. I decided to stand on the landing pad to watch them dock. Now one is just sitting on the landing pad, won't go inside, won't undock, and I can't get my real ship back. I'm on my way to sell all the Drones obviously, but am I going to be able to get rid of this one? Am I just going to have to use another ship to blow it up while it sits on the landing pad?

When ships are soldm they normally take off and fly away. Hopefully the drone will as they are the size of small ships.

If you are unable to access your stored ship with Shift+D, you could try landing the carrier and promoting the carrier's Captain to be Captain of the docked ship in case that lets you order it to fly out.

I was able to cancel the Drones dock order with a right click on the map. That let the others take off too. Probably because of all of the frantic orders I gave the link to try and get rid of them earlier.
