Saitek x52 (Again, sorry!)

Post by mrticklesisdead »

Hi All,

Hoping to get my Saitek x52 working in X4, but coming in to some unusual issues. I've seen and downloaded the files produced by blackhawk92 (thanks very much btw), but I seem to be coming up against configuration problems.

The main issues are that the profiles do not assign to commands in the Logitech software. Even when I manually create a profile these do not apply in game it seems. I've also tried to setup the x52 in game.

Various issues and random assignations of actions. x+y axis are weak etc, z axis fires the main weapon etc.

I've loaded both profiles in to the appropriate folders (Egosoft & Logitech) no change in behavior.

Tested the stick in windows all working fine, no faults.

Any advice?

Thanks in advance,

Mine works well, not sure what you can't bind with it..?

Never tried to use any preset profiles, just used the ingame menu to set up stuff, and what did not work like that i fixed by adding key events in the joy software and used those keys in the ingame control settings.
With pinky i have way more buttons on it then i actually need.

Only issue i had was i had to use 8way binding on the throttle pov hat for strafe, so each strafe direction bind i had to do twice (again set up key events for each in the joy software).

edit: maybe it also helps, running joy.cpl in windows (start key + r, then type joy.cpl and hit enter) you can see the button numbers as the game shows it. I missed that from the logitech control panel.

Hi pref,

Thanks for the response. Here's an example of the strangeness, which stops me from calibrating the controller at all.

When I try to map a control such as primary fire to the trigger on the X52 it always recognises it as 'Z Axis -'. Even if I try to save a different button or function. It's quite frustrating.

I'm going to try and replace all of the drivers and see if this helps, but in windows everything is configured correctly.
