Scan ship mission break

Version 1.30 (no mods)

I received a scan mission ("Our Eyes Only") to scan a Xenon P somewhere far away. Around when I got to the zone where it was, the guidance disappeared. Probably the ship was destroyed. However, not only did the mission not fail (or otherwise resolve) it's no longer possible to abort it. It's stuck in my mission log forever.
