1.3 BUG/possible exploit - Save game during death screen

I died to a mine and in my hurry to re-load I accidentally saved over my latest save-file (thankfully I alternate between two so didn't have to restart) during the death screen. When that save loaded I was stuck in the wreck of my ship and able to access some menus. I couldn't find a way to exploit the situation and the map was all kinds of bugged out but I wouldn't be surprised if there was an exploit waiting to be found. It would also be nice if the save option was greyed out on death so fools like me don't accidentally destroy their game
