help a noob questions

hello

this is my first go at a x game im having a hard time getting into it. ive watched videos but i cant recreate what the videos are doing.

like super highways i go to were the blue lines are and theres nothing there. i have to go to the start of it were the jump gate is. i seen on a video were he just put his ship in the blue line and he took off.

i took a mission to recover some droped fright. the mission was like ship crashed you need to recover cargo. i went to the indicated spot nothing there just a yellow mark that said empty space.

there is no missions i can find that i can do they all say hard or impossible. ive hunted crystals on asteroids for an hour couldn't find a one.

is this buged or im i messing something ?

For highways make sure you are not doing any changes to your flight other than stepping on the gas or you can get spit back out.

For dropped freight missions push shift 3 to go into scan mode and scan the area. You will want to find "?" in the nearby area. Once you fly to the ? it may be a lockbox you shoot open by shooting the red mark on it.

Crystals are easiest to find in Argon Prime. Just park yourself in an asteroid field and look for a twinkle of light on some of the rocks and fly to it. Once you know what to look for it gets alot easier.

now i have a mission to recruit marine . i did it says under personal i have 2 marines i got 2 because mission didnt update when i got the 1st one.

it still says recruit marine.

its bugged right? maybe this game needs more time to get things working ?

For the recruit marine/pilot/engineer/manager missions, you need to get them at a certain skill level. It's hard to find them at other than very low-level, so they would have to be trained before you could collect. This was sort of broken, but as of 1.3, it is supposed to be working, so you could board ships until your marines were at the right level. However, honestly the payout is quite bad for the level required so I'd just abort that mission and do some more profitable ones.

Station scanning, Lockbox missions, and the hidden "I need a fast ship" missions are easy money (for the hidden mission, you'll need to go into short range scan mode near stations to find signals). The "Food Shortage" and "Construction Wares Required" missions can be very profitable, but they can also be impossible to fulfill, so be careful. Build stations missions are immensely profitable, but need ~1.2-1.5M in the bank to do. Repair leaks are easy money, but it may be even better to scan the leaks in hopes of getting an expensive blueprint instead.

If you are having trouble getting missions, try just riding around the "ring" highway with your mission offers screen open (it might help to upgrade your ship's sensor first). You'll see missions from all the stations you pass.
