How to get X56 stick and throttle working like Star Citizen
So I spent 3 hours trying to get the controls in X4 to work like I have in every other space sim to date (including x2 and x3 and Star citizen) I have had no luck in getting x4 to do simple things..like having my sai tech pedals to roll left and right with a graduated level of input, or the main fire button actually being recognized as the fire button instead of being some menu button. its so utterly messed im not touching the game until someone helps me with the setup. the game looks fun though, assuming im able to play it at some point.

I have an x52 here but they have "default layouts" in controls. This got me a lot closer. The graduated is in the esc control menu. There you can remap the keys. I don't know if there is an x56 default or not.

I did see one but it didn't make the controls work like every other sim iv ever played, along with previous X games. what I am looking for is rather simple.
1. left and right on stick is left and right on ship
2. up and down is up and down on ship.
3. the main fire button is for firing the main guns not a menu thing. and I cannot remap it. wont let me
4. the throttle actually allows speed control ( mine will not accept it)
5. the pedals (sai tech pro) work for left and right roll with graduated input control.
those are the primarys I NEED to FLY, anything else is not acceptable.
ps. thanks for the imput BTW

Check if you did not map the buttons in your Saitek Profile Manager
Be aware that you can have multiple Joysticks/Controllers attached (see the small numbers next to the symbol in the mapping menue?) , you can reorder them in a separate menue. (have no access to the game ATM, so I don't know the name.
I also assume the game does not support more than 32 Buttons per Joystick, at least that is an Issue with my Saitek x65f, you can use Joystick Gremlin to remap these buttons to a virtual Joystick.

Also make sure when you are mapping the controls you do so in the left column (analog) and not the right column (digital) as the digital column is binary (doesn't like throttles or axis input, becomes binary on and off)
