Player Owned Station Question

Post by Evollusion »

Is it only possible to attach modules to the #2 and #5 connections on the station? If so, how do you attach station modules to the other connectors?

It sometimes requires you to rotate the object first. To rotate the object, place it somewhere on the planner where it turns green (anywhere for now) then rotate it by holding right click over the object and moving your mouse. Alternatively you can hold shift and riht click for ratched rotation

After rotating, you can drag the object to where you want to place it with left click

Some modules will only connect as a "top" item. Most Production module if not all seem the be that way. So you have to build cross sections and long connectors to spread out the base and build upwards in most cases. Most of the Storage modules connect at their tops forcing you to build them downwards on a base.

The rest seem a mix of side connections or any other direction except Energy/Solar which always seems to want to build sideways.

Thanks... now... errm… anyone know how to add turrets and shields to defense platforms? Do I need some type of other module to do so?

There's a little button to the right of the module name in the module list when looking at the plot config screen. It opens up a similar screen to the ship equipping one where you can select turrets/shields for your station modules, but only works on some of them (the ones that have turrets/shields).

Also, I found an easier way to build stations! There's a dice button at the top of the plot planning screen, says "shuffle modules". It basically takes all modules you put in and randomly arranges them in a valid way. So you can just drop all the modules you want to use, press that button and have a working station design if you don't care much about how it looks :P

You are the hero I needed. I don't enjoy fiddling with connectors for 30 minutes to an hour just to get it to all fit validly.

Yeah, I'd seen this. But whenever I open the screen to equip shields and turrets, none are available.

Mind: Blown. Much appreciated!
