Do you really need to start to 1.3 kicks in? My "galaxy" seems too empty of khaak, xenon and pirates. I have not seen a single pirate yet.
Moreso i read that the wharfs and docks are not producing NPC ships and it is a bug.
I have only 25 ganeplay hours and altough is not too much time, i dont want to start again.
Honestly im tempting to shelve this for some time in waiting of a more complete build.

Re: Old save game and 1.3
I'm still playing my first save from 1.0 and I noticed that there are xenon and khaak, but fighting each other in their sectors.
Also found xenon shipyards and defence stations, but there was only drones activity.
Don't know if they need some time to build an army or if they ran out of ressources.

Re: Old save game and 1.3
People claiming the universe has combat going on in fresh saves are probably only playing for a very short amount of time. I started a new save on 1.30, got myself SETA, and besides some very minor skirmishes (like one argon destroyer sacrificing itself to seventeen Odysseus') it's exactly the same as 1.00 after a few hours. Every shipyard and wharf is stocked to the brim, there's zero demand for anything but food rations, and the universe is dead.
The only way the game's economy doesn't break itself in a matter of hours is if the player wages huge wars, and then you can't even realistically profit off of those wars yourself as you've made so many enemies. The game's economy is broken by the lack of conflict no matter what version you play on.

Re: Old save game and 1.3
I decided to stick with 1.3 from the release Save. It`s taken about 2 hours, but now I`m seeing fleets of huge ships heading in certain directions... feels like a war is starting up. Getting more money from my merchant freighter too. Also I`ve noticed lots of improvements and my game is not broken. So I say it`s safe to go ahead.
1. Please do more on NPC civilian/uniform variety, and bio customisations, Devs.
2. Stations need sirens/warnings when enemy is close in numbers or Station in danger of destruction (in Sandbox).
Yes, for immersion. Thankyou ahead of time. (Edit: This is actually happening!!!)

It does feel that way. Then 5 hours of SETA later you realize those fleets won't do anything but hug the gate to a hostile sector for the next decade.Socratatus wrote: ↑Sat, 8. I wish people stopped drawing these "the game is fixed" conclusions based on nothing. I'm worried EGOSOFT might read the posts and think their game is functioning correctly when it isn't.

In Matrix #451 there are two Xenon Defence Stations that are doing nothing, and two Teladi Construction ships, just flying around there.
Other than that, the sector is dead.

I have been in MAtrix 79 - Tharka Crusade and Faulty Logic -Atiya's Misfortune and some station and drones aside and 1 K in each sector, nothing happens.
I have not seen any Argon Fleet engaging the HOP o viceversa.

Re: Old save game and 1.3
In rebirth I always wondered why there is no visible consumption from the general population. That should be enough to drive the economy. I guess they need to buy stuff also. In x4 I wonder the same, why not "simulate" consumption from the general population, why only consumption from war. It should not be that hard to model either, simply every once in while remove some inventory from stations and give them some money, but I am no expert.

Re: Old save game and 1.3
It isn't hard, resource sinks have always been in X games (although sometimes a bit too blatantly). Fact is, one of the marketing pitches of X4 was exactly the opposite: "this time everything is simulated, everything is extracted somewhere and used somewhere else, nothing comes from or goes into nothingness". An ambitious goal, but it turns out it's not yet working as intended. If balancing the war mechanics will be possible enough to make the economy work like that, good, otherwise, resource sinks will have to be brought back.furirkeeper wrote: ↑Sat, 8.
