How come every time I board or teleport to one of my ships no one announces Capt on deck?

You chose your crew by hiring random strangers you found walking by on the dock, how professional did you expect them to be?

Because technically, the guy who flies the ship is considered the captain. It's in the title.
If anything, you'd be more of a fleet commander or admiral, or whatever title you wish to call yourself... but you would be the only one to know it.
