[1.20] Turrets never work

Hello everyone
I have a problem with turrets, they simply do nothing.

I tried every setting, the shield icing while being shot at, the target icon when surrounded by enemies, the missile icon when I had missiles on my tail, bu the turret never moved and the symbol stayed grayed out
(viewing from outside the ship the turrets were deployed but stood compleately still, not moving an inch in any situation)
Is there a way to make them work?

Never tried to use turrets yet, but people who did say that the only working turrets currently are the Beam ones. Let's hope Egosoft people read this and fix it in upcoming patches.

turrets did work for me all the ones i tried including mining
although they are very glitchy
after few shots they might become gray and stop shooting until i stop contorlling the ship or the mining turrents started working only after i used the mining ship and cycled through turrent modes
also i want to point the turrent controls are not clear (shield "defend" and target "attack my target" as i got it but rest arent so clear) also wish they were player controlled as groups for the capital ships that is

Can we get a reaction from the devs please. The turrets are a urgent thing.

there was an answer on a steam discussion. they are looking into it but its not an easy fix since it can affect game performance. The reason given was that turrets check target position infrequently so they aim at empty spots. But fixing it would be as easy as increase frequency of targeting.

I doubt that there would be a necessity for additional target position calculations that would affect performance. Target position at any given moment is already calculated and known, since you are able to see it (target). It's just a matter of feeding coordinates into a turret in such a way that there's a certain margin of error.

Update
I made other tests and the ship if piloted by a hired captain do use turrets,
Moreover the bug only occur on captured ships, buyed ships's turret work "fine" (they still can't hit the side of a barn but that's a not related problem )

Capped a ship in 1.21, turrets never worked.. its 1.30 and the turrets still dont work WTF, annoying as hell..
