The Map(asthetic/Lore problem)

Okay, this isn't actually a technical issue as much in game as it is in the game's lore... but not sure where to put this post.. several systems that have been in game from X: Beyond the frontier to X3:R/TC/AP and since i'm guessing X:Rebirth isn't actually being counted as part of the lore , I don't believe the space between systems allots enough spaces for some of those systems that i'm assuming will be added at a later date, places like HOL which was located just "south" of Argon Prime, seems like the map was hastily thrown together without much thought as to the pre existing maps and systems which have been in the prior games, while i do enjoy the new map system better the previous maps, was comparing them and several systems in X4 don't exist in previous games, which is understandable expansion and such, though if those systems are to be added at a later time, the gate system is slightly askew... unless XR is considered an X game then it can make more sense as the gates did not reconnect the same way they originally were.

Hi! I'm a super newbie to X4 so I could have this wrong, but my understanding is that the entire gate network got re-aligned/randomized, so that going "North" from sector A no longer gets you to sector B like it used to. This conceit is backed up by lore dating back to X2 at least, where there were rumors that the mysterious "ancients" who designed the gate network would periodically re-organize them into different configurations.

I think according to the lore the systems next to each other in the old map don't necessarily mean they are in the same spot in the galaxy, except for when they share a common background because the map was done according to the gate connections. Also the Gates reconnecting in a different way after the gate network shutdown is lore and as far as I remember it is mentioned in the books that this would happen. Lorewise it even makes sense that the Split and Borons are cut off because the Sohnen who maintain the gate network don't want the species to extinguish each other.
