No Xenon, No pirates.. no conflict what so ever.

Post by JakubCW »

20+ hours into a game and i've seen a grand total of 3 xenon K's and the odd small fighter lurking about, and they could'nt even shoot a trader out of the void.. i've searched every xenon sector and pirate base and there are no hostiles spawning or being produced at shipyards etc...

longer i play the worse the bugs are getting, if this is a bug and not a design flaw..

anyone else suffering from a dead universe?

I have found a xenon system though havent even seen a K just 2 P-s and a few fighters in the other systems. I hope they will fly from those sectors and not just random spawn like in XR.

I just found and read a post on steam forum, he's basically saying that the universe is static, AI faction will not progress unless the player has done and made impact to the economy manually(manual mining and trading etc). Anything in auto does little to nothing to the game economy.

I really hope it isn't true man...

if that is the case, then their is no pint even bothering to play this game.. i am not going to manually manipulate and empire to such extreme micro-management just to get the game to start becoming interesting, what kind of stupid thought process would design such a system if its true? ..

Another X-game that will have to be saved by modders..

IF! it can be. the problem is that to many things like hard coded algorithms we have no access and the real problems are on that level. I really love what they have done to x4 and Im sure it will be even better with the years to come but there are such flaws that makes the game near unplayable. AI is one fo these. we can change the scripted things and thats cool but we are unable to change how the scripts are executed :(

I visited a Xenon sector early on and there were Xenon and NPC factions fighting each other all over the place. Later I found another and it was nearly empty. Eventually I went to explore the first Xenon sector again. Crickets. After looking around a bit, I decided to explore a Xenon Solar Power station. When I got near it launched defense drones at me and I whittled a few of them away for a few minutes. Eventually other Xenon started showing up, fighters, a P, and before I could take care of them I saw a K. That's when I decided it was time to take my nonupgraded starter ship ass out of there. Who knows what else was on its way?
So. There most definitely ARE Xenon around.

Also, have you found the Kha'ak installation in the Xenon sector yet? Run across a Kha'ak cluster yet? No? Don't worry, I'm sure it'll be fine....

As for pirates, you must have never carried anything in your cargo hold or they would have found you. Why do you think they would be interested in an empty ship?

When I started the new game I had plenty of contacts with Pirates. I captured 4 ships within 1-2 hours. It was great.
15 hours later... In order to find any kind of enemy contact I have to visit Xenon or Khaak Sectors (of which there are only so few). And even in those the enemy presence is severly diminished. Sorry.. But the game seems to be run dead when it comes to combat after a few hours or days. Not very promising and requires some decent patching!

There are missions that literally say:

Argon vs Xenon war
Argon vs Holy Order war
Paranid vs Holy Order war

And so on.. these are guild quests which I think kick off the AI to start fighting each other.

I did recently fly into a xenon controller sector and found a Xenon gas miner going about its business. I attacked it and as it was getting low on health I noticed more and more red dots appear on my radar. I finished in time for me to start seeing laser fire from the approaching fighters so I spun up the travel drive and left the sector. The fighters followed me through the sector which involved the local Argon patrol force.. They engaged each other but the Argon started to become overwhelmed as more and more Xenon flew out of the gate. Next thing I know Xenon carrier arrived and launched 40 more fighters.. I retreated back then checked the map to see 3 Argon destroyers racing to engage the carrier. So I flew back and watched the carnage.. more and more Argon military ships arrived and eventually beat back all the Xenon. Was the only battle I’ve seen since playing and I’m 40 hours in.

You lucky bastard experienced some epic random battle. My universe is so far boring and I check borders of all 4 Xenon regions! An odd K here, some fighter there, small Holy Order raid (bunch of fighters) into Xenon territory.

Looks to me like he caused an epic battle.
