Strange severe lag.

Im not sure whats causing it, but ill be playing the game and randomly severe lag that brings the game to a grinding halt.
Doesnt seem to have a timeframe. The game goes from being completely fine to severely unplayable in a matter of seconds.

Example, ill be crusing around in the ship, have a nice fight, pick up some cargo, and suddenly the audio lags along with the video..... to where its 1 frame every 10 seconds or so. Changing video settings does not fix it.
