Peregrine Sentinel?

Post by Slamdance_Kozmopolis »

So, I found a perfectly good Peregrine Sentinel just laying around in a minefield the other day. And, I thought to myself, "hey, that's mine now." So, I took it.

My question is, considering the state of turrets these days, and further considering that this beast has four of them, and still even further considering that this thing will cost at least Cr. 1.4 million to outfit...Should I invest in this ship? Should I leave it in dock for now? Or should I just sell it and invest in a maxed out fighter?

PS

I am a combat focused player, WHEN I can find something to shoot... :( My sky is empty these days.

Unless they fixed the bug that doesn't let you re-enter capped medium ships in your spacesuit, I'd sell it.

Hmm, I didn't know about that one... I think I'll keep her stripped and in dry dock for a while.

sell and get yourself a Nemesis. Nemesis is pretty powerful. Too OP imo since it can destroy capital ships like flies.

well, I'm trying to play with a "no buying ships rule." Could I cap a Nemesis in my Peregrine? Better yet, could I capture a Nemesis in my Falcon Sentinel?

Maybe in theory. I'm a bit wary of capping right now since much of the time the AI of boarding pods is so bad they only get in when OOS, but you could save first and see how it goes.

If you are lucky you enemies can leave their ships. You have to fight paranid for it though. I personally joined the HOP so i just bought for like 3.5 mill

I've found the Peregrine to work quite nicely as a personal command ship while the turrets are fitted with beam turrets. Any other turrets don't work too well. It might be time for Egosoft to get rid of "bullet" type weapons and just make everything beams or missiles :P

I'm 99% certain their bad aim is intentional. It's probably supposed to reflect skill, but it started out too low, and right now they don't seem to ever skill up.

This is because I have seen totally still ships firing at other totally still ships and still shooting around it rather than at it. It's not that they can't aim, they literally aim to miss.
