So, I'm sitting about 60 hours in, and I've only built 1 (largeish) station in Argon Prime, I have about 30 ships, and I have not even discovered the whole universe yet.
My hardware is:
Windows 7 Professional 64bit
GTX 980Ti, with latest drivers
24GB of DDR4 RAM
I7-5930K Processor.
I had shut off the game for no longer than 10 minutes, and now all of a sudden whenever I try to load into ANY save game, the game goes through the loading screen, gets to 99%, faintly begins to render and all of a sudden the music becomes erratic, begins to slow and my computer starts to crash. If I go into Task Manager and close the program manually my computer will stay on but if I let it try to wait through it it will completely crash my computer to the point of needing a hard restart. As it sits now I'm unable to play the game at all. I've been dealing with traders who refuse to listen, attempting to bring up certain interfaces without anything actually happening, and other myriad small glitches that are tolerable as they are being fixed. Unfortunately this one has broken the game entirely. I have verified integrity of the game cache through steam and tried multiple different loads.
Request any support ideas? I have a video that shows it happening and can get screengrabs. Thanks

Corrupted game saves? Did you try to start a new game? did someone try to load your saves?

Re: Massive Game Breaking bug
If you have a save that is off the beaten path, try loading that. Could be a ship is stuck inside your complex and physics are going stupid.
Try disabling all sound devices except your main one. Especially the nVidia sound device (it's what plays sound thru HDMI)
Apparently that is supposed to fix a lot of things.
Personally I don't have any issue once the initial world init is done and I fly off somewhere empty so the physics turn off. Then rest of game is relatively lag free.
However I use voicemeeter input as 'default device' so perhaps I'm dodging a bullet with that.

Re: Massive Game Breaking bug
Ona seperate note, please change the title to be descriptive of the issue you face, not 'massive game breaking bug' ... all bugs are bugs. however this thread probably won't even get the time of day from devs because they'll skip right over it as not being descriptive.

Please don't make "me too" posts. Your problem may have similar symptoms but the reasons could be completely different. Please start a new thread and provide the information requested in the sticky thread at the top of the forum, so that we can look into your specific case and not get it mixed up with someone else's.

I think that me too post are useful at least to recognize, how much players have the same problem - if some bug is very rare and based on very specifics condition. Or if it more common bug and thus should have higher severity in list of bugs. Therefore I post some #metoo post as well.CBJ wrote: ↑Fri, 7. Dec 18, 18:42 Please don't make "me too" posts. But ok, next time I will stay silent or open new thread.

Re: Massive Game Breaking bug
The point is that it's quite likely not to be the "same bug" at all. The same symptoms don't always mean the same causes.

Re: Massive Game Breaking bug
@ nalim27: However, neither of your listed advantages of 'Me too' posts are particularly valid in practice:
" .. useful at least to recognize, how much players have the same problem .." Most times it is not the same problem, just similar symptoms.
".. if it more common bug and thus should have higher severity in list of bugs.." The devs priorities are not just linked to commonality, but rather more to severity, ease of reproduction and identification, repeatability, feasibility of fixing, implications elsewhere for any fix, and availability of appropriate and sufficient dev resources.
The other factor is that 'Me too' posts very rarely provide the requested necessary information to follow up the issues anyway.
I really have to get on and leave this OT discussion there, but I felt it might be useful if you could perhaps see it more from the devs' perspective.
Ooops, Ninja'd by CBJ.
