As a veteran player since XBF till Albion Prelude(rebirth was well rebirth so never played extensively)I am coming at Foundations as a somewhat new player to the new style of X.Upon starting I repeatedly glitched through the landing pad; causing me to have to restart several times. Not the best of starts, however having persevered I slowly navigated what I feel to be an overly complicated U.I.Given how accustomed to key sequences I became, in X3, this new system seems to be cumbersome and unnecessarily time-consuming. The Stations themselves seem rather bland affairs added I suspect to imitate Star Citizen. The Problem being Egosoft, lacking both the money and experience have produced what feels like a cheap second-rate feature. From poor character models, glitching characters, very poor voiceovers to frustrating teleporting character bugs; everything feels tacked on with low production values.Which is a shame as they nail the economy and atmosphere great.
Combat, now I have only fought single fighter engagements so far, however, I can't help but feel that combat is after becoming very arcady. For the life of me, I can't figure out where my own ship damage info is displayed, and more importantly why my guns will refuse to fire upon occasion.
Now without being all negative, the game is certainly more fun than Rebirth, but then again getting waterboarded was better than Rebirth
