What to do with Kestrel sentinel and Discovery’s vanguard?

Hi Guys,

Whilst I’m really enjoying X4 - despite only getting an hour to play each night so far due to being on night shifts - I’ve managed to find and start the mission chain with boron scientist and have got to point where I need to blow up a ship.

On the way to explore some stations I’ve managed to capture in same battle both a Kestrel Sentinel and Discovery Vanguard - otherwise I’m starting elite with 230k to my name.

We don’t have any of the resources we had with X2/X3 yet such as ship comparisons ( Rogueys site etc...) - so thought to ask you old hands -

a) should I use one of these ships to blow up in anomaly?

b) are either any good otherwise - being scout a bit quicker from what I’ve seen than the elite but no idea yet on weapons fittings and benefits / disadvantages - not anywhere near a wharf atm.

Any thoughts / advice much appreciated.

Blow up the elite after you stripped it from most stuff (install no shield, cheapest engine, cheapest everything and no weapon) so the bare flyable hull.
It is probably the cheapest hull in the game.
After that use either the Kestrel or the Discovery's Vanguard as your main ship.
