Please advise me, I have a Sentinel and Vanguard

Hi guys, I am new to this game and some advise or direction help. I managed to claim a Sentinel ship and am currently piloting a Vanguard Fighter.

What can I do with my Sentinel ship now? Can I make it into a trading ship? How do I establish AI to do constant trading or should I just park my Sentinel in the system I claimed it in and just let it sit there and idle?

I am still piloting my first ship the Vanguard fighter. Do I need to upgrade my ship to make it more effective in trading? Also how do I become an efficient trader? I want to earn money from trading and I want to upgrade my fighter to a better one.

Please advise me what options or choices I have now? I only have 700K credits currently though. I just started reasonably speaking and am new to the X games universe.

If you want to make reliable money buy an M mineral miner and mine silicon in Argon Prime or 18 billion. One miner costs around 450k-500k.

I want to keep my Sentinel, but what can I do with it? I have previously completed missions with my Vanguard fighter so I am quite used to using my Vanguard fighter to complete some medium missions.

What is the next step for me in trying to earn more credits?

Okay - I presume your Vanguard is the ELITE vanguard... The Elite is the model and the Vanguard is the variant.

There are many Vanguard's around - and you should post the MODEL and Variant to let people know everything.

With your Sentinel - again there are probably many sentinels around - so we need to know the model.

Sure you can keep both ships - in X4 you will need to hire a captain for the ship you are not piloting yourself
and indeed, you should have one in your ship as well, just for emergencies. With regards to which ship you
use for trading - yes, you could use either of them for trading depending upon what cargo space they each
have available. So - check the stats of each ship and post them here along with the Models and then you
will get some better answers.

You will also need the trading system software to enable you to tell the other ship to trade when you are
not in the other ship - this will be on the ship you are in.

What I am wondering and needing help with:

1. What equipment should I equip the Miner with?
2. How much crew does it need?
3. How do I order the Miner to automate the mining process?

Is there anything else I can do with my Cerberus? I want it to trade, but how do I automate the process and choose what to trade in?

Okay - wow the Cerberus is an M7 - that's a mid range heavy ship
and mostly used for fighting - where on earth did you capture that !!!!!

So - the Cerberus - it has more cargo space and will certainly look after itself
if pesky Xenon or Khaak come to harrass it - they will die instead of your ship
You could use the Cerberus - but being a large ship - it cannot dock at every station
i think it needs a larger dock than normal - so you will find it a little restrictive.

I would find an asteroid field and go crystal hunting for an hour or two - or do some
missions - to get maybe 1m credits - then you can buy a miner or freighter to do
some mining or trading.

Excuse me but how do you do Crystal Hunting? Please bear with me I am new and still learning.

I want to travel around in my Elite Vanguard and do random missions, so how do I automate my Cerberus Sentinel to do trading or mining? I found an empty Cerberus in the Antigone Memorial system and claimed it with my Marine.
