How to look at missed messages about discovered abandoned ships ?

I got some kind of message that said "we found something over here" but missed the prompt to hit F.
I just assume this was a message about an abandoned ship, but it is very hard to find this since the message was gone so quickly.
There is no message related to this in the log, how are you supposed to get information about what happened if you miss a prompt ?
