Joysticks not recognised in-game.

I have dual Thrustmaster T16000M joysticks that I use to play Elite, Star Citizen etc. But they are not recognised in Foundations. "Manage Joysticks" only shows "Empty Spaces". Trying to bind any axis or button doesn't work. I have the "Allow Joysticks" ticked and adaptive steering is on. I've tried using with Thrustmater's Target Software and without. The joysticks are visible and working in Windows joy.cpl and they work perfectly in the games mentioned above. I know I can play using mouse & keyboard, but I spent £80 on this game specifically to use joysticks. I'd be grateful if someone could shed any light on this. I really want to experience the X Universe.
