Hi all,
I realize this is propably way down on anyone's priority list, and not sure if modders could do it... but here's a "physics wish".
What someone else wrote in another thread descripes the problem perfectly: The ships, with flight assist on, control nearly as instantly and precisley as our player walking on a landing platform.
Now, I realize we're pretending super futuristic automated inertia dampening here, yet to me it just doesn't feel believable. Even the larger S classes give an impression of many tons steel and fuel being thrown around, and being able to move the reticle around like we were sitting in a mounted gun turret just doesn't do them justice. Realistically the thrusters couldn't compensate the impulse of the main engines nearly as quickly as you turn over 90 degrees or more.
Drift mode on the other hand is cool, but *very* complicated to control most of the time.
So, is there any chance to have something in between? A drift compensation that takes, dunno, up to 5 seconds to chancel a 200m/s speed vector? Something that makes flying more of a challenge but without making it completely unassisted?

Hmm, not a lot of others interested in such a change?

I hope more people are. Getting a slight delay and a slowdown in the moves should be possible.
I hope for a mod here.

I tried manual docking yesgterday in drift mode, and it's fun (also quite doable).
So in principle I'm fine to fly everywhere without assists, but that feels kinda weird in an universe with such high-tech possibilities. It does feel a lot more like actual pilot work then manual docking with assists on, which to me is a good thing.

Yep. Something in between would be great.
Did you already post in the mod request thread?

Nope, I hadn't seen the modding forum exsists before I posted here...
My worry is, from what I remember from XR, the "Drift" mode wasn't just some variables, it was a fundamental change of model. Not sure if this is governed by accessible files.
