How to find the frontier of the paranid ciwil war?

Post by LoneStargazer »

So im new to the x games, and i started as the “Dedicated warrior”. It says that you are in a war with an opposing heretical faction, so i thought that i will be assigned to a fleet or something, but i just start alone in space. I tried to find friendly fleets but so far havent seen any invasions of enemy sectors or some commands to go fight them, just some strange plumbing missions. I actualy found the enemy sector, but no one tried to stop me from entering it, i could move freely through enemy territory. So i understand the war is going on somewhere else, but how do i find it?

If you're expecting massive real time warfare the X Universe saga is not gonna scratch that itch.
Enemy factions do start fighting after around 20 hours of gameplay since it takes a lot of time for factions to build up their economy now that all ships are actually built and not just spawned out of thin air but in any case it's basically going to be small skirmishes. What you want to do is do war related missions from the war ministry which is on the same station as the faction representative in sacred relic.

So there is war related missions, ok thx. I guess I kinda got it wrong, as I now understand we start in a buildup phase before the actual combat and without negative reputation with the “enemy”. Thought I have seen some vids of previous x games and got the impression that massive combat with carriers and fleets is what happens between rival factions.
Then another related question, since there is no general progression guidlines, if my goal is to eventually be able to fight enemy factions, should i do missions, hoard some cash and reputation, get permission to use military ships and then assemble a fleet that would be able to take on enemy sectors or am I planning it wrong? Couse I generally like to keep some goal in mind and understand what and why im doing in order to achive that, even if it is a very long term goal.
Anyway, while I love that you need to figure out alot of things by yourself sinse it gives you this sense of discovery, I have a feeling that it may shun away some less dedicated new players.
