Things that i didn't like in Foundation

Post by Warnoise »

Now before the fanboys jump in, I like the X series and I even enjoyed X-rebirth, however, I also criticize what I think is not good IN MY OPINION. Feel free to disagree with me but let's not resort to personal attacks.

So that said, after played for about 20h here are my points:

>The universe is too small: I think this is the smallest game at launch compared to X-rebirth and X3

>Too few factions: there are like, 3 major factions? Khaak and xenon are there but they barely appear this their presence is barely felt.

>Ships too few: not only that, there are no real XL ships like the arawn (argon without arawn? Wtf?) unless it has something to do with the lore in that case please correct me.
Also why everyone is sporting sentinels? Where are the haulers and the vanguards?

>Boring missions: this is what is making it very hard for me to play. I had the misfortune to assist the holy order and man, it is obvious that area wasn't tested. First mission against argon where I have to kill a ship. They spawned a hop ship and told me to kill it, wtf?
Also where are the defence missions? The sector patrol? The combat missions on general? I am t 20+ with the hop and yet to see one combat mission other than killing a capital shop for a mere 200k reward.

>Lack of information: The encyclopedia is useless. Where are the narrated lore parts that we used to have in the previous games? I don't even know what is the purpose of each faction or the story of each ship or ware.

>Universe is empty: 20h in and literally nothing is happening, the occasional small skirmishes between S fighters and that's it. No war, no xenon/khaak/pirate invasions (other than the pathetic 3 S ship raids). No shift in diplomacy, literally nothing is happening.

>Weapons are meh: It is cool that we can modify the loadout of our ships and all, but there is a lack of variety of weapons. Also there are no faction specific weapons (correct me if I'm wrong).

>too many gamebreaking bugs: And I am not talking about small bugs here. Unclaimable ships, broken boarding, broken scanning (data vaults), models disappearing, and so on. If you don't save every 10 Min you are screwed

>AI is lackluster: the AI is mostly dumb. The few times it works fine, the game gets surprisingly more fun. But currently the AI always bumps into buildings and can't aim at all. I left a khaak and a gorgon fighting 1v1, I return back after about 15 Min and they are still fighting each other...

Overall, the game is not very bad but I feel the game is shifted towards trading this time because the trading part is done pretty well imo (other than AI related bugs) but for people who prefer combat related walkthroughs like me, it is pretty disappointing.

I feel the same... Shipyards bugged, not completing orders whith full materials on hand. I have AI sitting at 0ms not returning fire.

I guess im playing something else until they patch this.. Why would you launch a game in this state?
