How to install Mods?

Hello all

I don't get it how to install mods in X4. I have looked in my Steam common folder in X4 and there don't seem to be at mods/extensions folder. I have also looked in Documents\Egosoft\X4 and there is a folder with a lot of numbers, but in that folder there is no mods/extensions folder only saves folder.

If the folder doesn't exist, then you need to create it. Similar to the Logo's folder

For example:
C:\Users\{UserName}\Documents\Egosoft\X4\{Buncha Numbers}\extensions
C:\Users\{UserName}\Documents\Egosoft\X4\{Buncha Numbers}\logos

I have created the extensions folder a you said and placed a mod in the folder. The file is a Zip folder, but the game is still saying "No Extensions Installed". I have extracted the zip file, but with the same result.

Hmm, I put the extracted files in that folder, each mod in a seperate subfolder of extentsions and had no problems.

The folder levelling needs to be such that you get this.
extensions\{modName}\content.xml

Then restart X4.

Nvm found it for some reason was document folder in notepad file rolf stupid windows 10 grrrrrrrrrr thank you for the info guys merry xmass and hollidays and happy profits

Don't use the documents folder!

Go to your steam folder: /egosoft/x4/extension

wow that is so weird. it fixed itself after posting the above
so i guess it takes a bunch of restarts or some random "steam time".

and the mods seem to have been installed twice which makes sense due to both folders being used
