How do i get a boarding pod to dock?

I tried to "claim" a boarded ship and it looks like a marine went out in a boarding pod and has been circling this ship for a while.

So I went and did it myself and told this boarding pod to dock back where it came from.

But it doesn't seem capable of doing this.

Please help.

Best bet is to leave the sector, he'll dock with the ship the second you're OOS.

Worked, didn't have to leave the sector just had to get a good distance away.

Now they need to remove the NPC model from the pod when it's flying to the ship. Looks really silly.

I was trying to board an abandoned Cerberus and got squished, saw this, sent a marine, watched him circle for a bit.

Then I flew around 140km away and Awesome I had a ship!
