[1.20] (323307) BUG - Not Enough resources on the station Bug for Upgrades.

I heard a lot about this before I even attempted to do an upgrade as I just assume that stations, etc were empty and slowly working on the simulation but after a couple hours I decided to upgrade my ship. Well oddly enough just opening it up it cried just that.

I have a lot of screenshots with info but before we start this is the equipment dock. Their Hull storage is almost full. It almost seems that the UI might be crying out what it cost to rebuild you ship or maybe some other borken odd math. But it makes it hard and really annoying to upgrade ships as your worried might not work.

So I thought you know what I will try it anyways and guess what I was able to upgrade my shields even though it whined...

But it whines before you even build something.

Then I opened it up again and now it said this:


.... Got even more confusing so I checked the station stock on Hull parts:

The equipment dock might not have as large of a hull storage as wharves and shipyards would as that picture at the bottom says that there are 649 out of 681 total stocked in the station.

Issue still remains the big error it pops up for a simple upgrade or even no upgrades. Where is the 3000+ hull demand coming from I guess is my issue. Something is wonky and confusing.

When it says it may take a while the upgrade timer is increased, that being the time you have to wait before you can fly your ship again, I have no idea how long it would make you wait for that number of missiong parts though.

Getting exactly the same issue.

I have tried several equipment docks and a wharf, all exhibit the same issue although the missing resource differs. This happens when trying to do anything to the ship (yes, even trying to strip it down to nothing, or not doing anything to it at all):

^ at another station, after I queued up a job (missing amount hasn't changed, the station does not buy hull parts, and claims to have '775/775' in stock)

If it's "part of the economy", then why does the station in question not even buy the missing resource? I tried supplying it and I physically cannot sell it what it claims is missing. And why is it missing a ludicrous amount of resources to do absolutely nothing to my ship? Or even remove a component? How is a player starting out ever meant to get anywhere if all docks are stuck demanding large quantities of resources before they will do something as simple as take off a laser or install a shield on a new ship?

Something is clearly not working right.

Can confirm ll of this. Plus when i did purchase an upgrade at the trader to see what happened my ship just flew off without me, couldn't redock and the game crashes when you try to load a save unless you reboot.

At the start new game saw 20k then 4k then some other number. It's really confusing even though I can use things just fine. It's a scary warning that has no meaning but can have a lot of meaning if it worked lol

The wharves I tried had the same problem.

I just encountered this issue as well, or maybe a related issue. It appears that the station needs to have all the parts to fully rebuild your ship, not just the parts you are changing, or it warns about upgrade time. The station I'm at is short on engine parts, and any change I try to make highlights engine parts on my ship list in red. Even trying to sell a few missiles doesn't change the message.

You can see that the only change is selling Dumbfire missiles, but the Engine Parts for the engine and thrusters are red, and I get the warning that the upgrade will take a long time. If I proceed, it takes a minute to complete the sale, so the upgrades/sales do appear to work.

Hull parts for one never appear in the bought list so can not even supply them myself

p.s. also checked yards and warfs same bug
