A few questions

I have an upkeep mission for the ship I've been flying around (A Perseus) to get a Captain for it... But as I'm running around stations (especially Warfs), I don't see any. Am I missing something here? I tried going into the upgrade menu for it, but I'm not able to select the option for a pilot.

I did the starting Guild mission for the Paranid VS the HOP. But after that, I'm not getting any guild missions at all relating to it. Is this a bug, or am I again missing something?

And is there really no pirates roaming around like there were in the past X games? Even Rebirth had pirates, but here the only red I'm seeing is Xenon and Kha'ak ships.

There should be "crewman" literally on each station. There are normally 2 or 3 in view every time I land.
Hire one and assign it as captain to your ship.

Oooh, I thought those guys would go under the "Service" area if I hired them since when I mouse over them they show Engineering and Moral skills.
