New in the X-Series [ I need Help! ]

Hi Guys
I downloaded X4: Foundations today and Im completely new to the X-Series... and I have a Problem.
Im stuck in the starter System cause I dont have any missions and I dont know how I can get access to a new system ( through data, scans or what? )
Please help me

Just fly around to go to new sectors and such, use the highways and wormhole gates. Missions pop up when flying near stations but not every station has one. Little icons pop up on the map (orange/gold in color) right click on them for mission briefing. or open the mission menu, they will be listed there if any available.

Thats the problem There are no Jumpgates only a highway to another system-sector...
And I already tried to fly out of the sector with the travel-mode, but it didnt work

Some systems have no jump gates, you need to take the highway to a system that has one, and Fly around, the gates are almost always near stations.(because they are prime station territory).

Welcome to the X series, Einkornwolf!

The series is very well known for being difficult to learn, and there is a huge learning curve with these games.

Once you get past that learning curve and get familiar with all the myriad controls and such, the universe opens up to you though, and many of us have had literally thousands of hours of enjoyment in the games. I have almost 8000 hours in X3: Terran Conflict alone, and I started with X3: Reunion a few years earlier.

Have you gone through the first 5 or 6 tutorials? Those give you a few good hints on how to look for quest indicators and such.. I started with the default Eclipse Vanguard, and after going through the first half of the tutorials, I found a mission given by a Boron (who I thought were not going to be in the game yet!) and I'm having a blast following his suggestions.

In any case, I hope you are enjoying the game.. and if you want to experience another fantastic game, I strongly suggest the X3 Warpack, which has Terran Conflict and Albion Prelude in it.
