1 star pilots.... where? how?

I bought myself a paranid miner which came with a 3 star captain, but I didn't want a captain with three eyes so I fired him and now I can't find a captain with the one star required to automine. Is there anyway to quickly find a 1 star captain, or if not what is the quickest way to level up one of the no-skill fools who are everywhere. thankyou

Seems like captains hired from a wharf/shipyard with a new ship average 3 stars, but everyone else sucks.

I've went around station to station and finally found one that was 2 stars I think? Found the arggy @ argon prime shipyard

I have found 3 star pilots on other ships I docked at. Specifically, a builder ship.

Still unclear if these Crew members will gain rank/experience/stars

There is a mod that make them have a chance to level up skill every hours on the nexus, i know mod.... but hey at least THAT work i know it.
