Hello,
Min requirements indicates Intel i5-4590.

I'm under with my processor settings :
Intel i5-3470
16 GB DDR3
GTX 1060 6GB

Do you think X4 will run correctly ?

The game should run, as your graphics card is well within the recommended range, but obviously performance will be limited by your CPU. I'd recommend an upgrade before you buy to get the best experience from the game, but of course the decision is ultimately up to you.

Tanks for your réponse.

But what do you mean about performance ?
Some lag, low vidéos settings,...?

Might need a new GPU. I'm rolling with 2nd gen i7, 20GB RAM, game runs off of an HDD, and a 1080. Runs remarkably well when it is not crashing on saving.
X games - addictive as heck. Always something to come back to.

I mean that the game may generally run slowly, and that when things get busy it will probably run slower still. Graphics settings won't help much here, because it's not your graphics card that will be struggling, it's your CPU.

I made a review regarding low ends configs Here...
I'm just below minimum requiered but still run well enough... I think the 16 GB RAM or more is a necessity for low end CPUs to help...

16GB of ram is a waste of money.
I run underspeced and total RAM usage has not gone above 7,2GB, so 8GB is enough

i5 4210H (2,9GHz, 2 cores, 4 threads)
8GB DDR3 1600MHz
GTX 960M 4GB
Crucial MX500 SSD(no, I don't have an HDD, I quit that shit)
Low game settings, cuz I don't care about shiny stuff

In space the GPU barely goes above 60%
CPU is mostly at 70-90 % mark, but in stations it can go to 100 for short spikes.

Basicaly, if you can play X Rebirth, then you can play X4. Lategame is still to be seen, but I played Rebirth lategame with no issues whatsovere, so I am hopefull.
Dont LAG & LAME, just PLAY the GAME.

It doesn't use more because you don't have more... My game is using 10Gb few minutes after lunch.
I don't say you're wrong but the more RAM you have, the less HDD is used for RAM emptying... The RAM is much faster to read than HDD, even SSD though

Please do not make misleading statements. That is categorically not the case for graphics cards. X4 absolutely requires Vulkan support, and also requires 3GB of memory, neither of which were the case for XR. A more accurate statement would be that if you can play XR VR edition then you can play X4.

How long will it take for "things to get busy" in your experience?
I'm running the game on 2500k and haven't had any performance issues so far.

It's not about how long you play, it's about the situations you find yourself in. The CPU will have more work to do in a busy area of space than in a quiet one, and more in a big battle than in a peaceful location. If you're not getting slowdowns then that's great, but I'm still not about to recommend that someone goes ahead and plays the game on a system that doesn't meet the minimum requirements.

I know that m'y cpu is just.

But to be efficient with the upgrade of the cpu, I need to change motherboad and RAM to DDR4.
So, budget is not the same... (~600€)

I Will wait a little bit to see if someone post remarks about my cpu or if dev optimize x4 for low config... Maybe :)

I'm running x4 fine, a couple of slow downs and a couple of card crashes in about 10 hours of gaming. Can't say it won't change once I have fleets in lots of systems bit I am lower spec'd that your set up :)

Well i have the FX 6300, & a GTX 1060 6gb vram, 16gb 1333mhz ram, running it on a ssd drive, using pretty low settings, but medium textures.
https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/765 ... reenshots/

At first it was pretty good, 60fps in space with vsync on, 45 approaching stations, 35-44 in stations, been playing for 2 days now and noticed things already slowing down a bit, sometimes now in low 20's in stations, (depending on station and location) but in space lowest i get is around 45, mainly still 55-60. Still perfectly playable so far on my lowly cpu, which i am upgrading to ryzen 5 2600 in 2 weeks anyway., with faster 16gb 3000 mhz ddr4 ram and new mobo. Hoping then the game runs smooth at my 1080p res, even when filled up with the simulated AI.
Luckily this game doesn't need a high fps value, anything from 30-60 is ok.

Speaking of misleading, how about you fix your steam page so it also mentions the fact that you need 3GB of vRAM.

I didn't mean to be misleading, but in my experience, both XR and X4 put about the same amount of stress on my system, including the GPU. X4 may actualy use less of my CPU, and that is just awesome, since cpu is my bottleneck.

Totally agree!! Above 30FPS it's playable. Below it start to be a bit visually not enough...
