Where to sell illegal goods? How to find pirate NPCs?

So I found some ... questionable goods. I'd like to offload them, but the only way to find a pirate NP is to fly station t station, look for a leaking com source, and luck out finding a mission that is to delivery illegal goods, then dock and sell my own wares.

I can't see a way to make notes on the galaxy map to mark where i previously found one of these NPCs, it;s been about 2 hours in game with me rocking around finding more and more data caches, more illegal goods and having nothing to do with them.

Is there a better way?

On one hand, I want to learn the answer to this too, but on the other hand, I want to figure it out on my own.

In the map legend there is "black marketeer" icon - I believe this is the location of the trader who buy/sell illegal wares.

However I haven't see it yet in any location so I don't know if you have to have anything else (like trade software or contact with pirates).

I don;t recall seeing any black marketeers on the map, The ones i find in stations won;t take the expensive items off me so i think i need a station. Either that or to do a mission for them to unlock better wares. Unfortunately all the missions i have items for are bugged, either bar areas not spawning or hacking not working.

I sold some spaceflyeggs to the trader at a station. It was in one of the early sectors, Profit iV something. Just go to the Trade building near the docks. It has a big shopping-cart neon-sign. There are also npcs in bars trading some illegal wares.

That only seems to be certain races and certain goods, they won't take any of the hacking gear which is the more profitable goods.

You can mark the map with Nav Beacons. Drop one and rename it

How exactly do you rename an object?

Edit: well, it works after a restart. For those who want to know: right click on beacon > information > click on its name to edit it. Pretty simple except when I tried the map was probably bugged and choosing 'Information' took me to the Behaviour tab, which isn't even clickable for beacons and satellites normally. Oh well.

Scan stations until you get a mission to deliver some questionable goods to an NPC on that station. You will then gain access to the Bar on that station, where you can buy/sell black market goods. I am not sure if the bar becomes available before you have the goods in your inventory. Haven't tested that yet. If the NPC wants something you don't have, keep scanning until you get one who wants what you have. Pop mass traffic criminals for illegal goods.
