Well, I already complained about general lack of descriptions in Encyclopedia.
I can (for now) live without faction and system descriptions.
However when I buy things there is no descriptions for anything?
What is the difference between Docking computer mk.1 and mk.2?
Why should I pick Ion Blaster or Repeater or Plasma?
There is absolutely no descriptinos whatsoever to inform you what the thing do before you buy and try it yourself.
It wouldn't be a problem in X3:AP, but this is completely new games with TONS in new mechanics an equipment!
I don't even mean lore accurate description - simple functional description what the thingy is doing, what is good and what is bad for!
THIS IS BADLY NEEDED!

Well, priority number one is actually to solve some of the problems people are having getting into the game, or ending up 40,000 km from where they expected to be.
With regard to the descriptions, the Docking Computer one is indeed one that needs addressing. The actual difference between them is the range at which the automated docking takes over, but there's nothing in the statistics about that. That is something we should address, regardless of the descriptions.
With regard to the weapons, the statistics do show you more information and give you an idea of which ones are more powerful, and by how much. Again, this could be improved on regardless of the descriptions.
The descriptions themselves will, hopefully, come, but they are a bit further down the priority list.

+1 for that. The information you get from the game regarding Upgrades and stuff is pretty... scarce, to say the least. Also a bit of lore info would also give mor immersion.

While I understand that there are still things to be done (although, if such fundamental things are missing, can the release be called 1.0 release?), I just want to highlight that there are people indeed waiting for descriptions and I am one of them. Putting the practical aspect of it aside, it adds ton of immersion imho, same with sector/cluster descriptions. Unless I've missed them, but I couldn't find sector descriptions anywhere either?

I'm not sure - I tried to compare Particle Laser (the begining pew pew laser) mk.2 with Repeater mk.2 and the games say Particle laser mk.2 is better despite Repeater beign 240k more expensive and locked behind military licence - stast seems to be very confusing in this case!

+1 to this, without descriptions this game is very hard to understand. It's less game and more economic model without descriptions to let us know who and what things are in the world.
Edit: Surely the same people who work on bug fixes (E.G. teleporting across the universe unexpectedly) are not the same people who write the lore, can this not be done in parallel?
