External app access

I believe a great addition for those of us with busy family lives would be the ability to communicate externally with the game even if the app is created by the community it would be great to have a documented API on an external network port that could be connected to using WCF or a similar tech as this would allow development of apps to receive alerts on a mobile device for example if your station is under attack and you're in the middle of helping your daughter with her homework then you could send a command to pause the game till you can get back to it.
