How To Script/Mod/File Edit/Change Rank?

Is there a script or a mod or a file edit or SOMETHING to change my rank for a while? I personally get off on assasination missions, but I always wind up getting insulted about the fact that I'm not a good enough pilot. This is in spite of the fact that I am now an ACE 3rd grade. I tried Stone-D's editor, but it only works with X2 version 1.1 and I'm running 1.3. At this point I would even possibly try my hand at writing my own script, even though I'm afraid I'd muck my game up. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Wrong forum, but I think you'll find there are always missions requiring 1 or 2 ranks higher than yours posted on the BBS.

I too would like to know this, I just spent the last hour destroying a Xenon Sector for rank and the game froze up shortly afterwards. I really don't feel like doing it all over again. Thanks.

I think the BBS missions will always be within 2 or 3 ranks of your current rank.
This means you will always (until you get to XTREME level) have missions that you can't do.

I don't think there is any easy way to modify your fighting and trading ranks. You may be able to change the memory but there doesn't seem to be a script function to do it.
