The "Casanova", An Argon titan in the Argon Prime awaits the presence of a somewhat inferior vessel. No such glamorous title has been given to the TP class Argon Express which flys at speed towards the Casanova. Inside this shell of metal, Andy is in his allocated seat, patiently awaiting the docking of this transport and the destination craft. He has no private quarters however aboard the Express, he simply must share his surroundings with several other beings of assorted race and gender. One would think that the view of space would be enthralling for all on board; alas no, they have seen the bleak emptiness of space many a time, and no doubt spent much time contemplating its contents. The Express flies for a reason, It is transporting personel to the Casanova. The people on board know not why they have been taken from their jobs in the ore belt sector, where the majority of them worked as ore miners. These cogs have been ordered to the Casanova post haste.
At this point none of the passengers could see the nothingness of space. The views from the windows were filled with the monolithic appearance of the Casanova as the ship docked.

The meeting room was full of many people, including Andy who were seated, impatiently awaiting the much deserved explanation for being summoned.
They didnt wait for long, onto the area in front of the seats a man dressed richly appeared from a doorway to the side. he walked on to the stage and started to speak:-
"Hello, My name is Geoffery Mann. I am the president Zyrax Enterprises. You have been called here for a reason", he hesitated.
"The reason you are here is because we have a proposition for you, This ship, the Casanova is bound for Split territory, where we will be working with them to find a more efficient way of producing energy cells. Your work will include maintenance of this ship, You will all be paid in excess of what you recieved mining mineral ore, and when research is complete you will all be given new jobs at Zyrax's production facilities, which will be constructed by that time.
Andy, was not particularly surprised at what Mann was offering. He knew that nobody would ship a load of people through two sectors for no good reason, or just to kill them or imprison them, he knew from the minute he boarded the ship that there would be some hope of properity for him, however not as it was being offered here.
*************
Much time has passed. The majority of the Ore workers accepted the offer, including Andy Mnemaxa whose main function as a cog on the ship was in the bar area, providing intoxicating beverages for his fellow crew members, who included his good friend MacNeill who inhabited the bar now. "Anything interesting today?" queried MacNeill, who did so each evening after his work, "Nah, quieter than usual this day, Mac. Im surprised, usually there has been one guy bottled by this time. Dont worry though, it will become somewhat more violent later on..."

A strange begining, I would have thought there would be some explanation of what was in store for the workers before embarking. I would certainly have wanted to know where I was going and why! Granted they do find out eventualy, but it does sound like these beings had no choice in the matter, but you don't say anything about that.
It looks as though it could be interesting. It is readable, the character build up is fine. But I would have liked to know why they can be hussled about like that.

Thanks for the input. This story is being made up in my head piece by piece. There will however be explanations for everything that happens, including the reason they chose the miners, the deal they got going with the split and Mnemaxas significance to the story. If you want to find out, you have to continue reading each part.
