X3 Logitech Throttle

Post by Chewiemuse »

Hi guys so ive tried EVERYTHING that I could think of. Ive tried turning throttle off. Installing different programs, Updating drivers, changing settings and I just cant seem to get the throttle working.

Im using a Logitech Xtreme 3d Pro, the throttle has worked fine before I never had an issue with it. Im currently running windows 10 and the litcube mod. EVERYTHING else works, Rolling, pitching all other buttons on the joystick work BUT the throttle. Mouse throttle works and other button throttle works. Is there ANY way to fix this im at a huge loss.

Hi. A search of previous threads show a lot of players using that stick successfully but their threads also usually mention using an appropriate (X2?) profile. Are you using any stick game profiles for playing X3? If so, I believe that the profiler application has to be restarted after any and all control function changes made before those changes will register.

Good luck.

I havent used any profiler, and how excactly would I get that? Do I do it in game or is it third party software. I tried getting PPjoy but there was no good download for it.

A profile is just a set-up table loaded by a small stick application called a profiler that sets up the stick settings and options to pre-determined values that other players or the devs have found to be optimum for that game. (If you cannot get a profiler app, then the profile options content can usually be copied or written out and then entered by hand.)

You generally get the profiles from game fan sites, from other players on forums, or from the stick manufacturer's site along with the profiler (which may be on your stick support disk).

I am sure that other similar stick users can help you more than I can in that area. Maybe yourself and this player could help each other out?

Ok, maybe stating the bleeding obvious but,

1) I take it the throttle is ok in the Devices and Printers menu? You're on w10 but that's what it's called in 7. Right click and go to settings.

2) What are your settings within Albion Prelude? You may need to delve deep to discover that place. I sure has hell don't remember where it is. But I'm pretty sure there's a throttle keybinding that needs attention.

Hope this helps

Found it!

Within the game, go to controls and then the controls tab. Throttle should be set to "Ship Speed".

Also, at the first game menu, make sure "Input Device" recognises your stick as the 3D Pro and that "Use Throttle" is ticked.
