[QUESTION] Where do you mod containers in space expiration?

Post by ezra-r »

maybe its me but I have the feeling that containers from destroyed ships go boom sooner since 4.0 release, which hardly gives you any time to look for worthy loot and order the drones from your ships to collect before they explode, which is one of the mains reasons one decides to dedicate their living to kill ships.

so... Anyone has any idea which file or what controls the time expiration for containers in space if it can be modded? I'd like to rise it to 15 minutes, maybe more when I find out which time it is set. Thanks in advance.

just for clarification: you refer to the ones dropped by Stations or Ships when destroyed/hacked right?

EDIT: just checked: that is defined in
libraries/parameters.xml
in the path
/parameters/drop/timeout
with the attributes
@min at vanilla value 1200 and
@max at vanilla value 1800
if not stated otherwise everything i post is licensed under WTFPL

Ich mache keine S&M-Auftragsarbeiten, aber wenn es fragen gibt wie man etwas umsetzen kann helfe ich gerne weiter ;)

I wont do Script&Mod Request work, but if there are questions how to do something i will GLaDly help ;)

Exactly, I meant those, thanks a whole lot!!

I guess that libraries path is inside a dat/cat file because I can't see that path in the directories of my installation.

edit: found them with X Rebirth Tools, made my own tiny mod to adjust them. Hope I did them right, haven't had the patience to stay next to one with the chronograph to see if they go boom when expected.
