How much similar/different is X3R scripting compared to X3TC/AP ?

Overall speaking, for the way scripting is done in X3R, how much different or similar is it to the scripting in X3TC/AP ?

Is it totally different ?

Is it the same basic rule/structure used ?

Are there same commands in X3R then X3TC/AP or totally different ?

Are we talking about X3R = X3: Reunion or about XR = X Rebirth? You posted in the XR Scripts and Modding Forum, but used the abbreviation for X3: Reunion.

Assuming you mean X Rebirth, XR scripting has little to do with scripting in X3TC/AP. Firstly, there is no ingame script editor (MSCI) anymore. So there aren't any MSCI commands either. Secondly, scripting is done via three xml based scripting languages for missions, AI scripts and cutscenes. Whereby the mission related scripting follows a syntax similar to the one of the Mission Director in X3TC/AP. Additionally, XR supports Lua for modifiying the UI of the game.
