Personally I use MS FF2 USB, works fine for me though I believe the feedback is better using MS FF1, it's a bit sharper

I had the SIdewinder prescision 1 for X-BTF and X2 which was great (16 programmable buttons (8+shift button) and programable POV hat, and throttle and twisty grip thing) but the mapping software is only for win 95/98.

For some reason MS won't make the software for Win XP. I could understand this if the Prescicion Pro 2 had the same features, but it doesn't it has far less.

Whatever you do, do not buy the Logitech Wingman series (force feedback or otherwise). They look great, have lots of good features, but the buttons on the base of the stick appear to be made of concrete, and you need to be Arnold Shwarchzeneger to puss them. And the buttons sometimes 'stick' on, e.g. your speed is set to docking speed, and you tap the afterburners to bring you closer, they stay on full blast and you crash into the station. Happened lots of time to me.

My previous wingman digital had about 2 years of faithful service until it started getting tatty. Lovely stick mind, and no problems with the buttons.

I bought a new one the other day to replace it, wingman xtreme digital 3d - see my post about it which may give a little info on it:

Buttons haven't siezed up yet, but now you've made me paranoid :)

There's should be an emoticon for paranoid damn it. They knew didn't they? They always do.
