The save games for latest version have huge increase in size in the last couple of days, from 138,869 KB yesterday to 783,486 KB and of course, take longer in saving. That is version 3.61 running on Windows 10 Intel i7 processor 4790K with 16GB RAM GeForce GTX980 video.
Suggestions or recommendations please?

Any 3rd party mods, scripts or save edits? Have you verified the gamefiles cache?
We really need rather more to go on to help you effectively. My vanilla saves (~ 30 MB) are showing no such increase recently (also Win10) - even over the recent mouse cursor and hotfix issue.
Oh, general questions, do you regularly clear out your in-game log and have you checked the size and content of any debuglog/uidata logging files that are held near your save folder for any clues?

Thank you for your excellent guidance. I verified the gamefiles cache and all was well. The complexity with the mods I have and all made isolating the problem beyond reason, so I happily started a fresh mercenary role. I must mention that I have never cleared the in-game log! Horror! So I do that now of course, just to 'play' safe.
