Moving mines from one sector to another?

Post by Malganis-Lefay »

Is there a way to move a mine or an asteroid from one sector to a sector of my choice without making my game modified?
I tried it with a tractor beam, but the rock seems a littlebit to big for the gate.
I heard from a glitch in Reunion that uses the jumpdrive, does something like this Existenz in AP? Or do i really need to do something like savegameedits to pull this of?

Not in strict vanilla, sorry.

You can probably mess with saves or find timing exploits that might be hit or miss or even risky. Since it is your intent to effectively modify your game anyway, why not just use a move script from the S&M forum?

Pretty sure it's not possible in the vanilla game.

Heh, then you really shouldn't be spending too long considering edits/exploits as that rather defeats the point of vanilla gameplay achievements.

Still, it's your single-player game so play it your own way. Good luck!

Why not Tkr's Redemption? There's plenty of resources for a 400+ station complex.
Maverick: Requesting permission for flyby.
Air Boss Johnson: That's a negative ghostrider, the pattern is full.
Goose: No. No, Mav, this is not a good idea.
Maverick: Sorry Goose, but it's time to buzz a Split.
Split: Split now give you .... Aaaarrriiiigh.

With jump drives, every sector is next to any other sector. Once you accept that complexes don't have to be self sustaining, planning your industry becomes much simpler. And with the hub, MoF can be two slow boat sectors from where you want the minerals.

If you want to go huge, you can separate the plex.
Produce crystals wherever there is enough silicon, and you can move the rest where there is plenty of ore.
