Best way to map controls to a HOTAS (throttle and stick)?

Hey all,

I have a Saitek X-55 Rhino HOTAS. I've got XRebirth ordered from Amazon and on the way.

If any folks here have configured similar HOTAS devices, I'd appreciate any tips or advice if you can share them.

In previous X games I used a CH Products HOTAS which was easy to set up b/c it had a feature that enabled Windows to see the HOTAS as a single controller. I don't know if the X-55 has that. If not, then it's going to be seen as two controllers- a joystick and a throttle. Will XRebirth recognize that?
