Springblossom exploding on certain stations after undocking - known with workaround

I've got a problem where my Springblossom promptly expodes after docking at random stations with the Docking Computer - it happens about 1 in 10 times and i undock into the superstructure of the station, propmptly killing me. If i dock at one station that it happens, then dock at it again, the problem is gone; it appears to be a random issue. I only had the problem with the SB and only after docking with the Computer.

Does anyone know a solution? Looks like a bug to me. I dock at stations to save usually but sometimes this renders a save unusable costing me progress and time

A well-known issue with a simple enough workaround. It depends on the type of player ship, the station dock design, even which docking arm is used, and what ships are parked next to you.

The solution is to stay on the ship but command its AI (Ship Command menu) to fly to, dock at, jump to, idle etc and the AI will undock the ship quite safely and you can regain control once clear of the station.

And just an FYI, it's not really random. It depends on which docking arm the game assigns your ship to when you dock. Some are too close to the station's superstructure, and hence the undocking problem. Other docking arms are not so close, and hence no big boom on undocking. So in that sense, it's random, but there is a pattern of sorts, too.
