Hi,
New player, first playthrough.
Basically, since first discovering the sector "Danna's Chance", there has been a station there called the "Rehabilitation Clinic" (pirate base) which has been under siege. Everytime I enter, there are always at least 4 M1 class ships (from various races) and numerous smaller ships attacking it simultaneously. Its shields are always at zero but its hull never goes below 90%.
Anyway, I recently got my own M7 and felt brave enough to join in on the siege to see if I could help finally put an end to this situation. But, sure enough, I was unable to do ANY damage to the station, even after launching 8+ Firestorm torpedoes at it.
Is this a bug? Or some setting that's part of a one of the game's scenarios, or somesuch?
I noticed, as I approached the station, that I received several messages but the messages were from "unknown" and blank. Was the station sending messages as part of the story but they are bugged out?
Anyone know what's going on? Is there anything I can, or should do about this....if so, what and how? Maybe I need to use some kind of console command to kill the station, I don't know....

Thanks for the reply. I'm playing AP and I only have a few mods installed, namely:X2-Illuminatus wrote:Which game do you play and do you have any scripts or mods installed?
Bounce v1.7
Dock Lockup Fix
Factory Complex Constructor
MK3 Trade Optimized
Wing Hotkeys
But bare in mind, I have only been playing with Bounce from (close to) the start of my game. And I noticed this long before installing the others. In fact, iirc, I think I noticed this before installing Bounce also (but I'm not certain about that one)
Any ideas?

Your Rehabilitation "Clinic" (Facility) shouldn't be invulnerable. Try verifying your game files through Steam. If that doesn't work then there may be a bug in one of your mods. If all else fails, install Cycrow's Cheat Pack and use it to 'destroy' the station if you want to get rid of the 'fleet'. Be aware that the station may or may not respawn.
Have a great idea for the current or a future game? You can post it in the [L3+] Ideas forum.

There was an invulnerable station bug in one of the later versions of X3AP that was fixed in one of the final updates. Make sure that the base game was/is fully updated even if you have since moved it from Steam for modding purposes.
Here we go: V 3.1 changelog includes: "- Fixed station invincibility bug"

Alan Phipps: ah, uh, didn't notice your post before i hit send on my last! Should have refreshed
uh, this is weird. I thought my game was fully updated. I began the game as a "regular" Steam game which I presumed would be fully updated (I enable all updates on Steam) but later downloaded the NoSteam .exe from this site, which I thought would also be fully updated and based on the same version. The X3:AP splash screen says v3.1, at least.
confusing.

Well, I revalidated everything via Steam and the issue still remains. I guess DevNet volunteers may not have fixed it quite 100%? Or I have just done something silly with my install (more likely). It's hard to tell as the station has already spawned in my game and so I guess its "invincibility" is hard coded/baked into my save now.
So I will try deleting the station with the Cycrow's Cheat Pack, hopefully it won'rt respawn as an Invincible.
While searching around, I at least discovered why I was getting blank messages from "unknown". I name a lot of my trade ships with square brackets and this FAQ says that that was the reason
Thanks for help guys.

ok, very sorry for spamming this topic but I've just noticed something interesting about this station which might be of interest to someone and, perhaps, also explain why the station became "invincible".
Getting up close, so that I could kill the station with Cheat Pack, I noticed something that I hadn't noticed before. There was what appeared to be an Argon Military Cerberus somehow "attached" to the station. It was very close but at an odd angle to the station, so I don't think it was actually docked there. But it was not selectable by itself, wasn't visible on the sector map, was not attacking or being attacked by the station, and when I destroyed the station (using Cheat Pack) it also disappeared.
Just wanted to add that final bit of info. Last post on this - promise.
