Any Ideas?

Ive been playing rebirth for awhile, and i mean struggling with the fps for a long time. Since ive bought it i've added a better vid card and 16 gbs ram and a i5 cpu with 3.2 ghz. Can anyone tell me why my fps is so bad even on low-mid range settings? ive even tried it with everything set low and its still terribly hard to play.

Hi dogmaclement,

maybe make a meaningful title next time, or chance is nobody helps you.

Try this one, I had the same problems and put it together. Goes for a Nvidia card, but be sure that your GPU is not scaling the image.
With a powerful card (I expect u have one), try absolutely to reduce settings and make the card run AA.

I don't know about a list of compatible cards, if exists. But its not difficult to make the game run.

When its about to make it run well, its an other question. More context sensitive

You're probably affected by the known "performance drop" issue, which decrease your fps below... let's say 8, in function of neighboured(or not) events.
To verify this, simply activate your steam fps-counter somewhere in steam Shift-Tab menu. Next create a save-game on a black(<-for performance) empty space. Then reload it after restart (the problem can be inherited), and count the time you can still on this reference stable fps.
For additional information, repeat the test close to a safety big station and somewhere in fight, any other relevant situation...
The game should come back to "normal" value after any rush... But it don't, in the case of the issue. No matter graphical settings...
