Radar no longer working properly [solved]

Hi, this seems to have some connection to v3.52 since previously I was able to use SHIFT-R and SHIFT-M -- which now do nothing.

The radar never shows space unless a waypoint/directional marker (gate, etc) is targeted.

When anything else is selected as the target the radar shows the target info.

I have tried the verify game cache and reassigning the two space control settsings for the radar without any change.

The game I am playing is derived from a save from space in 3.50. It worked fine in 3.51.. Presuambly the bug introduced 3.51 was moot with a save such as this.

The radar is mostly useless for combat in the current state so I hope there is some way to regain correct radar operation.

Hi, I can do that if you'd like to tell me an email to send the files to or an incoming ftp to use. The .xml saves compress (rar) well so should be no biggie with email attachment size.

I loaded up a save from campaign start, one of my first saves in 3.50 during the free weekend and the problem still was present fwiw.

I assigned the debug a control and used the SHIFT-R|M a few times and this doesn't produce any message(s) in the debug log.

..well. Once again I am displaying my tired brain.

Just so happens I was mokeying around with the gfx settings and overlooked the radar on|off setting which I suppose got flipped off when I used medium as a preset as a base for custom.

Honestly I'd not even looked in those settings since I noticed the radar gone. Figured it was strictly gpu/hardware related stuff and since i'd got that all set acceptably.. well. lol

Thanks for the responses though! In all fairness, I do have a heap of personal BS going on so thinking is a bit distracted.

BTW: cough, I found the trouble by runing a diff on the config.xml file with an earlier on, not by looking at the settings in the game. hehe
